Recap: Belmont Bison vs. Dunbar Wolverines
It was a good run, but the Belmont Bison unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. The contest between Belmont and Dunbar wasn't particularly close, with Belmont falling 75-58. Belmont has struggled against Dunbar recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Belmont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Denzell Ogle. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with five rebounds. The game was Ogle's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Judah Baldwin, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Dunbar got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eric Brewer jr out in front who scored 23 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Brewer jr has scored at least 25% of Dunbar's points. Jimmy Hill iv was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds.
Belmont's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Dunbar, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5.
Belmont will square off against Trotwood-Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Trotwood-Madison's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. Dunbar is on the road again on Saturday and play against Walnut Ridge at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th.
