Baseball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 4-0 to the West York Area Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on April 8th.

Ethan Neiman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Ferguson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for West York Area, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Dover will challenge Eastern York at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for West York Area, they will square off against York Suburban at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
