Softball Recap: Erskine Academy Gets the Win

Erskine Academy and Winslow pushed the score to 13-6 the last time they played Winslow, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Eagles never let the Black Raiders get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Black Raiders, too.

Kelsie Dunn made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over eight innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Dunn wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kammie Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

The win got Erskine Academy back to even at 8-8. As for Winslow, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

As of now, neither Erskine Academy nor the Black Raiders have any future games scheduled.
