Basketball Game Preview: Westmont Sentinels vs. Northtown Pumas

The Westmont Sentinels will head out on the road to challenge the Northtown Pumas at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westmont will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Westmont will head into Tuesday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 51-point drubbing they dealt Cristo Rey Jesuit on Tuesday. Westmont breezed by Cristo Rey Jesuit to the tune of 58-7. With the Sentinels ahead 30-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Westmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Danielle Hoover led the charge by putting up ten points and seven boards. Hoover has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Sadie Scales was another key player, scoring eight points and nine rebounds.

Northtown played against Ellison and won via forfeit.

Westmont is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.1 points per game. As for Northtown, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-10.
