Volleyball Game Preview: Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies vs. Wagner Red Raiders

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies will venture away from home to square off against the Wagner Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Thursday, Elk Point-Jefferson came up short against Beresford and fell 3-1. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Wagner and Hanson, and Wagner kept the tradition alive. The Red Raiders skirted past the Beavers 3-2.

Wagner wouldn't go down easily and took Hanson into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Wagner pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Everything went Elk Point-Jefferson's way against Wagner when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Elk Point-Jefferson made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
