Soccer Game Preview: Pierce vs. Colusa

The Pierce Bears will square off against the Colusa RedHawks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Pierce turned things around against Willows on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Honkers.

Meanwhile, Colusa hadn't done well against Winters recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Colusa never let Winters onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Given the RedHawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Warriors are ranked 821st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Colusa and bumps their season record up to 4-2-2. As for Pierce, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.
