Volleyball Recap: Hobbs Falls to Portales in First Game of Season

Hobbs unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Portales Rams on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

Hobbs was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Portales work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 26-24, 20-25, 25-16.

Portales has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Hobbs will take on Monterey at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Portales, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Roswell at 6:00 p.m. on September 9.
