It's playoff time, and Goldthwaite had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Evadale Rebels by a score of 52-44 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won 16 games in a row.

Despite the defeat, Evadale saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brett Buckner to rack up 15 points. Those 15 points gave Buckner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Bennett, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Goldthwaite pushed their record up to 25-6 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Evadale, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 31-8.

Looking ahead, Goldthwaite will face off against Mumford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mumford will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Goldthwaite surely won't give up without a fight. Evadale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
