Recap: Catholic Central Crusaders vs. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians
The Catholic Central Crusaders entered their tilt with the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians with 14 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 15. Catholic Central came out on top against the Indians by a score of 62-52 on Friday. Given Catholic Central's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Indians are ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Catholic Central was led to victory by Xavjon Arroyo and Sei'Mir Roberson. Arroyo scored 20 points along with four steals, while Roberson scored 26 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arroyo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Qwameik Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Catholic Central's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Catholic Central will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Lansingburgh and the Crusaders are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, they will play host again and welcome the Warriors, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
