Softball Game Preview: GlenOak Golden Eagles vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish

The GlenOak Golden Eagles will square off against the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither GlenOak nor St. Vincent-St. Mary posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for GlenOak's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jackson on Wednesday. Golden Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Polar Bears since on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, St. Vincent-St. Mary lost 8-2 to Hubbard on Thursday. The Fighting Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Vincent-St. Mary saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Eckroad, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

GlenOak's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Everything went GlenOak's way against St. Vincent-St. Mary in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as GlenOak made off with a 16-5 win. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Irish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
