Volleyball Game Preview: Wethersfield Eagles vs. Newington Nor'easters

The Wethersfield Eagles will head out to square off against the Newington Nor'easters at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Wethersfield has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Wethersfield took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Berlin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Redcoats 3-2.

Wethersfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Newington earned a 3-1 victory over Middletown on Monday.

Wethersfield took their victory against Newington in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
