Volleyball Recap: Miami Beach Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

The Miami Beach Hi-Tides beat the Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes 3-1 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hi-Tides.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (96-94) Miami Beach actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-22, 16-25, 25-23, 28-26.

Despite the defeat, Somerset Academy South Homestead saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Renato Rodrigues had four digs, two blocks, and two aces. Rodrigues is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 27 or more in each of the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Jayden Perry was another key player, getting eight kills and three blocks.
