Baseball Recap: Wilson Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Wilson's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Poteet Pirates. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

Joe Cabrera Loera looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jesus Fermines was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kalen Sir Leaf, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Wilson's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Poteet, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11-2.

Wilson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
