Baseball Game Preview: Unioto Shermans vs. Zane Trace Pioneers

The Unioto Shermans will take on the Zane Trace Pioneers at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Unioto 1.4, Zane Trace 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Saturday, Unioto earned a 5-1 win over Lynchburg-Clay. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Shermans.

Logan Perdew spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, Jaxon Zickafoose was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Zane Trace put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Fairland.

Zane Trace's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Unioto, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Unioto beat Zane Trace 4-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Shermans repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
