Soccer Recap: Basha Triumphs

After failing to score in their last game, Basha made sure to put some goals up on the board against Sunnyslope on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Sunnyslope Vikings a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Bears' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Their offense was hitting Sunnyslope from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Addison Baltodano led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Basha now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Sunnyslope, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Basha has already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Tucson High Magnet School on the 27th. As for Sunnyslope, they will square off against Apollo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunnyslope is facing Apollo at the right time seeing as Apollo is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
