Baseball Game Preview: Billerica Memorial Indians vs. Arlington Spy Ponders

The Billerica Memorial Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Arlington Spy Ponders at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Billerica Memorial's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Arlington's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Arlington will be up against a hot Billerica Memorial squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Indians came out on top against Dracut by a score of 7-2 on Wednesday.

Westport typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Arlington proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Wildcats.

Arlington saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Sadowski, who went 3-for-4 with one run. Sadowski has become a key player for the Spy Ponders: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 4-9 otherwise. Tim Badua also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Billerica Memorial's record is now 8-5. As for Arlington, their record now sits at 7-9.

Billerica Memorial was able to grind out a solid victory over Arlington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
