Football Recap: Wesson Skates Past North Pike with Ease

Wesson was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 44-15 win over the North Pike Jaguars. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cobras had established a 22-point advantage.

Damarion Smith had a dynamite game, picking up 73 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one score on the ground.

Despite the loss, North Pike still got an impressive performance from Cardarrius Thornton, who rushed for 125 yards and one touchdown.

Wesson has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 23 points this season. As for North Pike, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wesson will take on Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Pike, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Terry at 7:00 p.m.
