It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Needles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They managed a 61-55 victory over the West Wendover Wolverines. The Mustangs' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Needles was led to victory by Luke Mills and Darrell Russell. Mills went 6-for-14 en route to 24 points, while Russell dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. What's more, Russell also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Michael Burns, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Despite the loss, West Wendover still got an impressive performance from Adryan Carlos, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 16 boards. Carlos has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Efren Delmuro was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Needles' victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 31-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.8 points. As for West Wendover, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-6.

Looking ahead, Needles and Incline will face off at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in Needles' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. West Wendover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
