Volleyball Recap: Coastal Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Maranatha Christian, Coastal Academy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Oceanside Pirates. For the Stingrays, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

While Coastal Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Oceanside scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 20-25, 27-25, 25-18.

Coastal Academy found their leader in freshman Marko Radovanovic, who had seven digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Radovanovic.

Coastal Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Coastal Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for Oceanside, their record is now 11-14.

Coastal Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Escondido Charter on the 24th. As for Oceanside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against San Pasqual on the 25th.
