Baseball Recap: Sunnyslope Comes Up Short

Sunnyslope's tournament run continued when they took on Castle View on Tuesday. The Sunnyslope Vikings lost 11-2 to the Castle View Sabercats. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sunnyslope got a good showing from Camden Grove, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Grove has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sunnyslope saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Mares, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Sunnyslope's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Castle View, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

When Sunnyslope and Castle View next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Sunnyslope will face off against Cherokee Trail and their three-game winning streak at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Castle View will try to stop O'Connor's five-game winning streak when they meet at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
