Baseball Recap: Milken Triumphs

Milken hadn't beaten de Toledo on the road since March 2, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Wildcats skirted past the Jaguars 3-2. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Aidan Pereg looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Elijah Shokrian and Jared Dunn did most of the damage at the plate: Shokrian went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Dunn went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Shokrian is becoming a predictor of Milken's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Shahn Adler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Milken's record is now 11-9. As for de Toledo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Milken will have a chance to go back-to-back against de Toledo: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
