It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Brooks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lawrence Academy Spartans, sneaking past 6-5. This was payback for Brooks, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.
Andrew Martin was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Lachlan Fletcher also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Brooks' victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Lawrence Academy, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
