Basketball Game Preview: Texico Wolverines vs. Melrose Buffaloes

Texico has won five straight games at home, while Melrose has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Texico Wolverines will welcome the Melrose Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Texico blew past Hagerman, posting a 57-10 win. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Melrose posted their closest victory since January 20th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Elida out 55-52. The Buffaloes haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Texico has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points over those games. As for Melrose, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.
