Anthracite recap November 13, 2013

Schuylkill Haven moved up to 185 from 237 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Anthracite. The Hurricanes climbed the ranks as a result of besting Tri-Valley 42-0.

Schuylkill Haven took down the Bulldogs 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ryan Fink threw for 25 yards and ran for 161 yards in the win.

Marian Catholic's dynamic duo of Ethan Kuczynski and Nico Agosti proved tough for Muncy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kuczynski threw for 163 yards and 4 touchdowns and Agosti had 67 yards receiving. Hunter Nause helped Marian Catholic's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 30 yards.

Fink provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mike Farr's team beat Tri-Valley.

Shenandoah Valley's Ian McCole and Kayin Herb led the league in both passing and receiving yards. McCole has thrown for 1,701 yards this season, while Herb has 27 catches for 479 yards. The Hurricanes' William Casella leads the league in rushing yards with 1,682.

Fink of the Schuylkill Haven is only 68 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Fink has rushed for 932 yards on 133 carries so far this year.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Marian Catholic takes on Mahanoy Area. At the moment, Stan Dakosty's team is in sixth, while the Golden Bears are in third.

The Hurricanes made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,362 from 5,502. The improvement was the result of a 42-0 victory over Mike Ulicny's team last week.
