Leigh typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Pioneer proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Longhorns on Wednesday, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Pioneer's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Kennaday, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Pioneer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pioneer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Leigh, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 16-3 record.

Looking ahead, Pioneer will take on Westmont at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Leigh, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-8 defeat against Santa Clara on the 26th.
