Canyon View waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They enjoyed a cozy 52-36 win over the Manti Templars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-52 back in December of 2024.

Canyon View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayla Blackner, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Blackner a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Maylee Spencer, who scored eight points and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Manti lost, don't look at June Olsen. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Olsen has become a key player for Manti: the team is 4-2 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadee Alder, who earned three points in addition to eight boards and seven assists.

Canyon View's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Manti, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Canyon View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-43 victory against Juab on the 23rd. Manti has also already played their next contest, a 60-49 loss against Emery on the 23rd.
