Basketball Game Preview: Brethren Bobcats vs. Onekama Portagers

The Brethren Bobcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Onekama Portagers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Brethren took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They snuck past Northern Michigan Christian with a 49-43 win.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Onekama). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Mason County Eastern 72-24. Winning may never get old, but the Portagers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Onekama pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games. As for Brethren, their win bumped their record up to 7-16.
