Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Fayetteville

Fayetteville entered their tilt with BVCHEA HomeSchool on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Mustangs.

Kandon Kaspar made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Fayetteville let Lawson Fritsch and Easton Jaeger run wild. Fritsch went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Jaeger went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Fritsch a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Henneke, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Fayetteville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Fayetteville's record now sits at 7-2. As for BVCHEA HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Looking ahead, Fayetteville will take on Bloomington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Bobcats/Lady Cats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats/Lady Cats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for BVCHEA HomeSchool, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Texas Wind on the 17th.
