Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeSoto County). Everything went their way against the Booker Tornadoes on Monday as DeSoto County made off with an 11-1 win. The Bulldogs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024.

Hagen Bryan was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Abel Nedley was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for DeSoto County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10 otherwise. Daylon White was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

DeSoto County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive matches.

DeSoto County's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Booker, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. As for Booker, they will challenge Bradenton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Booker's pitchers better be ready for this one: Bradenton Christian has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
