Baseball Recap: Bayside Takes a Loss

Bayside lost against Cox back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Marlins fell 9-5 to the Falcons.

Josh Heinrich made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tayden Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Bayside's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Cox, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Coming up, Bayside will host Kempsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chiefs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Marlins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cox, they will head out to square off against Greenbrier Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
