Baseball Game Preview: Fullerton Indians vs. Katella Knights

Fullerton is a perfect 3-0 against Katella since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Indians will square off against the Knights at 3:15 p.m. Fullerton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Fullerton came out on top against Laguna Hills on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Indians walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Hawks.

Evan Terrazas tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Calin Williams was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Katella came up short against Costa Mesa on Friday, falling 17-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Katella saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Guerrero, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Ben Villela also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Katella now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Fullerton, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Fullerton skirted past Katella 3-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
