Softball Recap: South Tahoe Sets Scoring Season-High Against Virginia City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Tahoe). They were the clear victors by a 23-13 margin over the Virginia City Muckers on Tuesday. The Vikings not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17, 2024.

South Tahoe's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Mathews, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Mathews has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Rory Lachapelle, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

South Tahoe's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Virginia City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1.

South Tahoe has already played their next game, a 15-13 win against Hug on the 19th. As for Virginia City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-5 defeat against Non Varsity Opponent on the 20th.
