Recap: Ball Tornadoes vs. Clear Lake Falcons
The Ball Tornadoes are still undefeated this season after their game against the Clear Lake Falcons on Thursday, but the Clear Lake Falcons came as close as anyone has to beating them. Ball sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 win over Clear Lake. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Clear Lake's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jason Obert, who scored 23 points. Obert scored a full 34.3% of Clear Lake's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jerrick Guidry was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with 8 rebounds.
Ball's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Clear Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.
Ball will face off against Glenn at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Ball is ranked 104th). As for Clear Lake, they will take on Crosby at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
