Basketball Game Preview: Higley Knights vs. Williams Field Black Hawks

The Higley Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Williams Field Black Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Higley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

Higley will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Gilbert, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Higley blew past Gilbert 85-56 on Wednesday. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Higley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Dabney, who went 10 for 14 on his way to 25 points and seven assists. Donovan Dabney was another key player, going 7 of 12 en route to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Gavin wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Higley was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 21 assists in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Williams Field didn't have quite enough to beat Queen Creek on Wednesday and fell 61-58.

Higley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.8 points. As for Williams Field, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Everything came up roses for Higley against Williams Field in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 69-42 victory. In that contest, Higley amassed a halftime lead of 42-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
