Odem's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Hinojosa, who rushed for 170 yards and three scores. Hinojosa's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Adrian Ramirez was in the mix as well, providing Odem with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Odem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Cotulla won against Dilley two weeks ago with 26 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Cowboys walked away with a 26-16 victory over Karnes City. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Cowboys were the (much) better team in the second half.

Cotulla's defense made their presence known, laying out Savion Nixon-Thompson three times. Ryan Sanchez refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Karnes City's side was Sanchez, who picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made 13 total tackles.

Odem's record is now 9-1. As for Cotulla, their record now sits at 6-4.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Odem has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 331.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cotulla struggles in that department as they've been averaging 150.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything went Odem's way against Cotulla in their previous meeting back in November of 2015, as Odem made off with a 43-18 win. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Cowboys have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
