Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Lions vs. Thrall Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Franklin Lions challenge the Thrall Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Franklin has 13 straight wins, Thrall has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Franklin strolled past Little River Academy with points to spare, taking the game 51-35. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 599th, while the Bumblebees are ranked 1223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Thrall was beaten by Little River Academy 57-29 on Tuesday.

Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Thrall, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-24.

Everything came up roses for Franklin against Thrall in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 61-25 victory. Will Franklin repeat their success, or does Thrall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
