Basketball Game Preview: Dolores Bears vs. Monticello Buckaroo

Dolores hasn't had much luck against Monticello recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Dolores Bears will welcome the Monticello Buckaroo at 4:30 p.m. Dolores has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Dolores is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Telluride on Friday as Dolores made off with a 69-46 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Monticello suffered their closest defeat since January 23, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Escalante by a score of 55-52. The Buckaroo have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dolores' win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Monticello, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Dolores came up short against Monticello in their previous matchup back in January, falling 62-53. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Monticello's Kaden Pehrson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards.
