Baseball Recap: Dwight-Englewood Drops Highest Score of Season Against Tenafly

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dwight-Englewood). They put the hurt on the Tenafly Tigers with a sharp 21-5 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Jason Lee looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Matthew Civan was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Noah Fisher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Dwight-Englewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Dwight-Englewood and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Tenafly, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
