Preview: Dover Dragons vs. Webutuck Warriors
Dover is 10-0 against Webutuck since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Dover Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Webutuck Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Friday, Dover was the victim of a tough 75-52 loss at the hands of Mount Academy. While losing is never fun, Dover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Mount Academy is ranked 64th).
Dover's defeat came about despite a quality game from Justin Cardwell, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Green, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Webutuck, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a hard 75-60 fall against Pine Plains on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
This is the second loss in a row for Dover and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Webutuck, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Dover strolled past Webutuck when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 87-69. Does Dover have another victory up their sleeve, or will Webutuck turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
