Baseball Game Preview: Marion County Warriors vs. Cascade Champions

The Marion County Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Cascade Champions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Marion County came up short against Chattanooga Christian on Tuesday, falling 10-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eli Blevins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Tipton, who got no hits from his two at bats.

Meanwhile, Cascade put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Richland with a sharp 14-4 win. 14 seems to be a good number for the Champions as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jayden Hathcock made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Cascade let Jaxson Milliken and Xykaiah Dixon run wild. Milliken went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Dixon scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Milliken a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Thomas Demartelaere, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Marion County's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Cascade, their record is now 3-0.
