Preview: Immaculate Mustangs vs. New Milford Green Wave
Immaculate is 9-1 against New Milford since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Immaculate Mustangs will be playing at home against the New Milford Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Immaculate's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
Even though Bethel scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, Immaculate still came out on top. Immaculate secured a 65-59 W over Bethel.
Meanwhile, New Milford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Cheshire by a score of 63-61. The game was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but New Milford couldn't quite close it out.
New Milford might have lost, but man, Ryan Esposito was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Esposito has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Checo, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Immaculate's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for New Milford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
Immaculate was able to grind out a solid victory over New Milford in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 57-44. Does Immaculate have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Milford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
