Basketball Game Preview: Lake Oswego Lakers vs. Oregon City Pioneers

The Lake Oswego Lakers will venture away from home to challenge the Oregon City Pioneers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Lake Oswego is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Lake Oswego came up short against West Linn on Wednesday, falling 75-52. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Lions are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Oregon City suffered their closest loss since December 10, 2024 last Tuesday. They fell just short of Tigard by a score of 51-48. The Pioneers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Oregon City's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Lake Oswego, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Lake Oswego came up short against Oregon City in their previous meeting back in January, falling 75-63. Can Lake Oswego avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
