Football Preview: Spring Valley Vikings vs. Lugoff-Elgin Demons
The Spring Valley Vikings will head out to challenge the Lugoff-Elgin Demons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spring Valley hasn't scored more than nine points for seven games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
Spring Valley is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Westwood two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Vikings were beaten by the Redhawks 31-0.
Even if they lost, Spring Valley's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Dylan Redden refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.
Meanwhile, Lugoff-Elgin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 34-28 to Westwood.
Spring Valley will have to contain Zach Williams as he made an impact in Lugoff-Elgin's last game. He rushed for 68 yards and three scores, and also threw for 257 yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of that aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Eric Richardson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Spring Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lugoff-Elgin, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
