Basketball Recap: Schaumburg Christian Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

On Friday, the Schaumburg Christian Conquerors didn't have too much trouble with the Hiawatha Hawks as they won 62-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Conquerors.

Schaumburg Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Saenz, who went 6 of 8 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. Those 16 points gave Saenz a new career-high. Lucas Bustamante was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Schaumburg Christian pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Hiawatha, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Schaumburg Christian will head out to take on Harvest Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Elijah Bell and Bustamante. As for Hiawatha, they will welcome Serena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hiawatha is facing Serena at the right time seeing as Serena is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
