Football Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. Desert Hills Thunder

Dixie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Desert Hills Thunder. The Flyers lost against the Thunder in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-0 score last time.

Even if they lost, Dixie's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Bristol Woods, Kasel Berezay, and Brady Christensen, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Isaac Andresen was his usual excellent self, picking up 70 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 117 yards for Desert Hills. Andresen is becoming a predictor of the Thunder's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't).

Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Desert Hills, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.
