Volleyball Recap: Sweetwater Red Devils vs. Foothills Christian Knights

Sweetwater was the 2-1 winner over Foothills Christian when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sweetwater Red Devils took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foothills Christian Knights on Saturday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Red Devils were not able to get on the board.

Jaeden Brown paced Sweetwater's offense, picking up six kills. Brown got some help from Sergio Salazar and his 16 assists. Salazar was also a major player on defense: he and Federico Rosales shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Foothills Christian can attribute much of their success to Josiah Crenshaw, who had 12 digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Crenshaw a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sweetwater fell to 6-1. As for Foothills Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Sweetwater wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against San Marcos on the 1st. As for Foothills Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Bonita Vista on the 1st.
