Basketball Recap: Round Valley Falls Short of San Francisco Waldorf in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Round Valley can now relate to. They lost to the San Francisco Waldorf Wolverines on the road by a 58-44 margin on Wednesday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolverines from their previous meeting back in February of 2019.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Francisco Waldorf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Gowe, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 17 points. Gowe continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Finian Hudgens, who went 7-for-8 en route to 16 points.

Round Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games. San Francisco Waldorf's win bumped their record up to 8-11.

Round Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Francisco Waldorf, they will head out to take on St. Bernard's at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
