Baseball Recap: West Middlesex Comes Up Short

West Middlesex lost against Greenville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Big Reds fell 7-3 to the Trojans. The Big Reds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kyle Gilson put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Gilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Blanton, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

West Middlesex's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Greenville, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

West Middlesex has already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against Wilmington on the 26th. As for Greenville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-6 loss against Mercer on the 24th.
