Baseball Recap: Yelm Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bethel last Wednesday, Yelm came back down to earth. The Tornados came up short against the Sumner Spartans on Friday, falling 8-2.

Yelm saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Ramirez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Yelm has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Sumner, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Yelm will challenge Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tornados are facing the Sentinels at the right time seeing as the Sentinels are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Sumner, they will square off against Puyallup at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
