Pontotoc is 3-0 against New Hope since December of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

If Pontotoc beats New Hope with 73 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Pontotoc blew past Lafayette 73-40 on Friday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Commodores are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, New Hope humbled West Point with a 63-27 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Pontotoc's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for New Hope, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Pontotoc took their victory against New Hope in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 69-44. Does Pontotoc have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Hope turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
